The English bowler became world known by Charlie Chaplin.
Top hats were mainly worn by the upper class. Now they are still worn on stage, at fairs, theme parties or musicals such as the musical Top Hat in London or the world famous musical Mary Poppins
They are also still used in equestrian sports and further the high hats are still worn at burials or cremations.
Top hats are also known as cylinder hat, high hat, topper, beaver hat, silk hat, stove pipe hat.
